The NFL Draft is getting closer and closer as the days go by which means it’s time for us to cover five players that the Eagles should target in the second round. While it will all depend on what’s done with their two first-round picks, it seems like whatever the Eagles have planned for the first round could be complemented in the second without fault. Here are five prospects to keep your eye on for the second round:

LB Christian Harris

The Eagles need a linebacker that excelled in pass coverage and Harris is the ideal fit for that role in the 2nd round. The Alabama product has a high ceiling with the potential to be a three-down linebacker in the NFL. In 2021, Harris recorded 79 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 12.5 tackles for loss.

RB Kenneth Walker III

The Junior running back out of Michigan State tallied 1,636 rushing yards while averaging 6.2 yards per carry. He scored a total of 18 touchdowns in 2021 after transferring from Wake Forest. Walker runs angrily with quick feet which could be the multi-dynamic back that the Eagles need alongside Gainwell and Sanders.

WR George Pickens

At 6’ 3”, Pickens would be the perfect compliment to DeVonta Smith and Question Watkins. He wins his battles at the line of scrimmage while providing enough cushion between himself and the defender. He has an excellent catch radius as the kid seems to make catches even off of off-target throws. Hurts could benefit greatly from a player like Pickens in this offense.

LB Chad Muma

If the Eagles truly want a three-down linebacker then Muma has to be their guy. Chad has a huge football IQ at the LB position. He’s outstanding in pass coverage and even greater in the run game. The kid has everything you want in an NFL starting LB and would greatly shine in Gannon’s scheme.

S Jaquan Brisker

The Penn State product would be a welcoming sight for Eagles fans. It seems as if the Eagles’ answers for safety could be right underneath their nose in the great state of Pennsylvania. Brisker would be a match made in heaven for Defensive Coordinator John Gannon. His scheme fits a player like Brisker plus allowing him to develop with Anthony Harris could pay off big time.
