Week 11 was a tough one for S Rodney McLeodwho went down with a season-ending injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Cleveland Browns defender has been hit with some more bad news. His bank account is going to be a bit short, as the NFL has hit him with a fine for a play that was deemed unnecessary roughness.

The fine is going to cost McLeod $7,319 and even if that doesn’t bother him, it’s probably not the news he wanted shortly after ending his season.

McLeod started against the Steelers in place of S Juan Thornhill who was out with a calf injury. McLeod, who is on a one-year deal with the Browns, made 29 tackles for Cleveland in 10 games with five of them being starts.

Now, the 33-year-old veteran safety will have a road to recovery following his biceps injury.

Cleveland will rely on Ronnie Hickman and D’Anthony Bell more as a third safety with McLeod down.

Not a favorable last week for McLeod, but he should be a player the Browns look to bring back next year if he continues playing.
