While there has been much talk about coaching factories, the Philadelphia Eagles are proving to be a general manager factory.
Howie Roseman ascended to the position as Eagles general manager in 2010.
But before handling one of the highest front office positions, he started as a salary cap staff counsel in 2000.
Three years later, he became Director of Football Administration.
He also became Vice President of Football Administration and Vice President of Player Personnel before becoming general manager.
His spring well of football wisdom helped the Eagles remain competitive since he took his current position.
Since 2010, the Eagles have had six playoff appearances and seven winning seasons.
More importantly, his negotiations helped Philadelphia win Super Bowl LII over the New England Patriots.
Roseman’s longevity also made him a mentor to other general managers.
Pro Football Focus writer Ari Meirov pointed out the recent hires from Philadelphia’s front office.
Joe Douglas and Andrew Berry have become general managers for the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns, respectively.
Pat Stewart also became Vice President of Player Personnel for the Carolina Panthers.
Ian Cunningham and Brandon Brown went on to become assistant general managers for the Chicago Bears and New York Giants.
Finally, former Eagles Vice President of Football Operations Catherine Raiche is also joining the Browns in a front office role.
Roseman’s Masterpiece In The 2022 Draft
Roseman proved that he’s one of the best in his craft by getting good value from the 2022 NFL Draft.
He traded away two of his three first-round picks to get more draft capital in succeeding seasons.
He also pulled off a heist by drafting Nakobe Dean in the third round.
The former Georgia linebacker is projected to go in the first round.
Roseman also went for quality over quantity by selecting defensive end Jordan Davis and center Cam Jurgens.
