Ronnie Stanley had a roller-coaster season in his eighth year with the Baltimore Ravens.

Stanley allowed a total of 39 pressures and five sacks over 13 regular season games played. The veteran left tackle was also called for 10 penalties in the campaign.

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta has not touched on the possibility of the team releasing Stanley. If the Ravens were to take such a route and release him as a post-June 1 designation, they would carry $11.168 million in dead money for this year but save $15.0 million.

ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler does not see the Ravens soon parting ways with Stanley.

During a recent appearance on Pressbox’s “Glenn Clark Radio” show, Fowler took some time to touch on Stanley’s future with the Ravens, where he laid out a case why the one-time Pro Bowler may very well end up staying put in Baltimore.

"They've held on to him for this long, they let him fight through the injuries," Fowler said. "They could have cut him before if they wanted to be aggressive, and they never did. And I'm not saying he's the same player. He's still uber-talented. ... I know he's not the same guy because of the injuries, but to replace him, would cost just as much or more unless you can get a really good tackle in the draft, and it is a good tackle draft. High in the draft, you could have six or seven offensive tackles going round 1.

"If they want to zap into that, I could maybe see it. ... But you're already losing Kevin Zeitler. I don't necessarily see them moving on. I know they can save a lot."

Stanley is under contract with the Ravens for two more seasons.
