Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is entering the final year of his deal, and the Cowboys don’t seem to have made any ground with him in extension talks.

This has created some concern in Dallas, especially considering that the Cowboys also have to worry about paying quarterback Dak Prescott and edge rusher Micah Parsons.

Both Lamb and Prescott are currently slated to hit free agency next offseason, but at least in the case of Lamb, Jacob Robinson of The Athletic thinks Jerry Jones will open his wallet.

Robinson is projecting that Dallas will hand Lamb a four-year, $125 million contract ($90 million guaranteed) that would surprise what Tyreek Hill received from the Miami Dolphins. Robinson also thinks the Cowboys will do it before they see the type of contract Justin Jefferson gets from the Minnesota Vikings.

Lamb is slated to earn a tick under $18 million in 2024, and Robinson doesn’t state whether or not he thinks the Cowboys will allow him to play out next season on the final year of his deal.

You would think Dallas would prefer to lock Lamb up now, especially considering the Cowboys seem to be headed toward not reaching an agreement with Prescott before next season begins.

Does Dallas want two looming free-agent standoffs hanging over its head going into next March? Probably not. The Cowboys will face enough drama if Prescott hits the market in 2025; let alone Lamb, as well.

Lamb is coming off of a fantastic 2023 campaign in which he hauled in a league-leading 135 receptions for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns en route to his third straight Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection. He also finished third in Offensive Player of the Year voting.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Oklahoma, was selected by Dallas with the 17th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.

We’ll see if the Cowboys can lock up CeeDee Lamb before a potential holdout situation begins.
