Arizona Cardinals tight end Zach Ertz (87) Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Cardinals moved on from Zach Ertz over a week ago at the tight end’s request, and it sounds like he has no shortage of suitors.

Ertz has had “serious conversations” with at least six teams that are in the postseason hunt, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. The 33-year-old has been in no rush to sign with a new team.

Ertz asked the Cardinals to cut him so he could pursue an opportunity with a playoff contender. He is recovering from a quad injury he suffered in Week 7, which may be another reason he is taking his time before committing to a team.

Ertz was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round back in 2013. He made three consecutive Pro Bowls with the team from 2017 to 2019. He was then traded to the Cardinals midway through 2021 and signed a three-year, $32 million extension before last season.

At least a few teams have shown interest in signing Ertz, who has 27 catches for 187 yards and a touchdown on the season.
