Kendrick Bourne is hoping to reunite with one of his former teammates in New England.

On Sunday morning, rumors were floating around social media that San Franscico 49ers star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk had asked for a trade. And when Bourne saw this, he immediately took to social media.

"@Patriots let's get em! You getting all the targets u want! ," he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

However, it turns out Aiyuk has not requested a trade. His agent, Ryan Williams, posted on X, responding to the rumor, writing, "You need better sources."

Bourne made it clear that he wanted to re-sign with the Patriots and the two sides got a deal done in March. So now that he's back, he wants the team to load up on the top talent.

So the wide receiver is playing the general manager now.

And this is the second recruiting pitch he has made to Aiyuk in the past week.

The two spent time together during Aiyuk's rookie season in 2020. And the Patriots are in need of a top weapon on offense, with Aiyuk having finished the last two seasons with over 1,000 yards each year. That talent would certainly be welcomed in New England.

However, the 49ers have made it clear that they intend to sign Aiyuk to a long-term deal, and have no intention of trading him.

But never say never.

Maybe Bourne's efforts will work out eventually.
