Quarterback expert and former NFL journeyman Jordan Palmer, brother of longtime Cincinnati Bengals starter Carson Palmer, wants the world to know he expected big things from Jake Browning this season. The younger Palmer took to Twitter (also known as X) on Monday night, reposting his interview on the Rich Eisen Show from late November, where he spoke about his belief in Browning’s ability to lead the Bengals with star Joe Burrow out for the season.

Palmer joined the Rich Eisen Show in November, with the former sixth-round pick discussing The Bengals quarterback situation fresh off a season-ending injury to starter Joe Burrow. Palmer, the founder of QB Summit, an in-person quarterback consulting program, spoke highly of Jake Browning, the fill-in with Burrow on the mend.
“It was almost week by week, and I was going, ‘Wait a second, this guy is really good.’ He can spin it, his movement, a lot of the stuff that we worked on happened quickly.”
Palmer stated that he only worked with Browning once the latter found his way onto the Cincinnati Bengals. The quarterback consultant tutors Burrow alongside elite signal-callers like Patrick Mahomes, Deshaun Watson, and Josh Allen.
Palmer continued, saying, “When I look back on Jake’s career, several of the things I look for in a quarterback I saw in Jake…He was completely dominant in high school, and then you look at Washington. He was a four-year starter and had almost a four-to-one touchdown-to-interception ratio. He was offensive player of the year multiple times and won the Pac-12 two of three years.”
As a senior, Browning set the California state record with 91 touchdowns at Folson High School. Browning also shined in college, starting four seasons with the Washington Huskies. He won Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2016, throwing for 43 touchdowns against nine picks while leading his team to the College Football Playoff.

Browning made his second season start on Monday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars . He shined against a division leader on the road, going 32-of-37 for 354 yards and a touchdown. He also ran two times for 22 yards and a score. The Washington product went 4-of-5 for 35 yards during the winning drive in overtime, including converting on a crucial third down with an 11-yard pass to Tee Higgins. The Bengals enter Week 14 only one game back of a playoff spot in the AFC.
