NFL Week 13 injury report

The injuries heading into Week 13 include significant names, but the upcoming week also provides hope with the pending returns of Jay Cutler and Jameis Winston. Here's a rundown of the week's biggest injuries.

Terron Armstead, OT, Saints

Armstead sat out Wednesday's practice with both thigh and shoulder issues after leaving Sunday's game. He's questionable for this week.

Barwin had surgery for a broken left forearm this week. He will miss at least a couple weeks, according to the team.

C.J. Beathard, QB, 49ers

Stan Szeto / USA Today Sports Images

Beathard left Sunday's game with hip and knee injuries, opening up the door for Jimmy Garoppolo. Head coach Kyle Shanahan announced Garoppolo as the starter going forward, while Beathard sat out practice on Wednesday.

Amari Cooper, WR, Raiders

Cary Edmundson / USA Today Sports Images

Cooper missed practice on Wednesday with a concussion and ankle injury. He's unlikely to go on Sunday, and wideout Michael Crabtree is also out due to suspension. Fortunately, the Raiders are heavy favorites against a Giants team starting Geno Smith.

Jay Cutler, QB, Dolphins

Reinhold Matay / USA Today Sports Images

Matt Moore started last week after Cutler suffered a concussion in the previous game, but the veteran is set to return this week against Denver.

6 of 20

Demar Dotson, RT, Buccaneers CHANGE

Kim Klement / USA Today Sports Images

Both Dotson and Bucs starting center Ali Marpet have been placed on injured reserve and ruled out for the season. Dotson tore his PCL, while Marpet is also out with a knee injury.

7 of 20

Ryan Kelly, C, Colts

Brian Spurlock / USA Today Sports Images

Kelly remains in the concussion protocol after leaving Sunday's game and is unlikely to play this week.

8 of 20

Paxton Lynch, QB, Broncos

Neville E. Guard / USA Today Sports Images

Lynch is set to miss 2-4 weeks due to a high-ankle sprain. The Broncos will re-insert Trevor Siemian as their starter.

9 of 20

Doug Martin, RB, Buccaneers

Dale Zanine / USA Today Sports Images

Martin missed Wednesday's practice after leaving Sunday with a concussion. Jacquizz Rodgers would start for the Bucs this week if Martin can't go.

10 of 20

Rashaan Melvin, CB, Colts

Brian Spurlock / USA Today Sports Images

Melvin has been ruled out indefinitely with a "significant" hand injury. The loss is a big blow for Indy's secondary.

11 of 20

Greg Olsen, TE, Panthers

Jeremy Brevard / USA Today Sports Images

Olsen's surgically-repaired foot acted up on him Sunday, but he was able to practice on Wednesday. If he doesn't have any setbacks this week, he should re-enter the lineup.

12 of 20

Josh Sitton, OG, Bears

Patrick Gorski / USA Today Sports Images

Sitton suffered a concussion in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Eagles and was held out of practice on Wednesday. His status is up in the air for this week's game.

13 of 20

Telvin Smith, LB, Jaguars

Philip G. Pavely / USA Today Sports Images

Smith left Sunday's game with a concussion and remained in the concussion protocol on Wednesday, sitting out practice. He's questionable for this week's game.

14 of 20

Desmond Trufant, CB, Falcons

Brett Davis / USA Today Sports Images

Trufant sat out Wednesday's practice after suffering a concussion on Sunday. His status for this week's game is unknown.

15 of 20

T.J. Ward, S, Buccaneers

Kim Klement / USA Today Sports Images

Like teammate Doug Martin, Ward left Sunday's game with a concussion and didn't practice on Wednesday. His status is known for this week.

16 of 20

Damien Williams, RB, Dolphins

Jake Roth / USA Today Sports Images

Williams is considered day-to-day with a shoulder injury, but is unlikely to play this week. Kenyan Drake would see more snaps in his stead.

17 of 20

Mike Williams, WR, Chargers

Kelvin Kuo / USA Today Sports Images

Williams is likely to miss at least one game after suffering a bruised knee in last Thursday's game. He didn't practice on Wednesday.

18 of 20

Luke Willson, TE, Seahawks

Joe Nicholson / USA Today Sports Images

Willson missed practice on Wednesday due to a concussion, but he could still play this week against the Eagles.

19 of 20

Jameis Winston, QB, Buccaneers

Aaron Doster / USA Today Sports Images

Winston is set to return in Week 13 after sitting out the last two games to rest his injured shoulder. Of course, he will be without two starting offensive linemen this week at Green Bay.

20 of 20

Derek Wolfe, DE, Broncos

Ron Chenoy / USA Today Sports Images

Wolfe left Sunday's game with a potentially serious neck injury. The team could shut him down for the year.
