NFL Week 8: Tennessee Titans vs. Atlanta Falcons betting picks, preview

The lowest total on the NFL Week 8 slate resides in Nashville, where the Tennessee Titans will play host to the Atlanta Falcons with an over/under of 35.5. Considering the Falcons rank 29th in the NFL in scoring offense and Ryan Tannehill has been ruled out for the game, the minuscule total makes a ton of sense.

We have no interest in touching the total here, so let's find a different way to attack Titans-Falcons from a betting perspective.

Tennessee Titans vs. Atlanta Falcons betting odds and preview

Spread: Falcons -2.5, Over/under: 35.5, Moneyline: Falcons -142 | Titans +120

As the Titans prepare to take on the Falcons in Week 8, the biggest story leading up to this matchup is Tennessee's quarterback situation. The Titans ruled out Tannehill on Friday afternoon, so could see a combination of Malik Willis and Will Levis under center this Sunday afternoon. Head coach Mike Vrabel suggested both young QBs could see snaps in the game, but how much we're not sure.

On the other side, the Falcons are static on offense with Desmond Ridder running the show, but they're averaging just 16.4 points per game this season. The defense, which ranks fourth in the NFL in yards per play allowed, has paved the way to Atlanta's 4-3 start.

Whether it's Willis or Levis under center for Tennessee, we're not going to see many points scored on either side.

Titans vs. Falcons betting picks

Titans moneyline (+120 FanDuel)

In games with high variance, it can be valuable to take a shot at a plus-money play. Levis hasn't taken a single NFL snap yet, which makes it impossible for Falcons head coach Arthur Smith and defensive coordinator Ryan Nielson to gameplan for this matchup.

Odds are we see a ton of Derrick Henry on Sunday afternoon. The Titans will be content with running the clock, playing the field position game and hoping for a key Ridder mistake late in the game. Vrabel has been profitable as an underdog his entire coaching career, plus he's had two weeks to plan for Atlanta's offense.

Mack Hollins over 5.5 receiving yards (-115 DraftKings)

This line is almost shocking to me. Hollins has played in all seven of Atlanta's games this year, and he's caught multiple passes in four of them and cleared this line in five. The wide receiver has been playing fewer snaps recently, but he's still played more than 34 percent of the team's offensive snaps in three straight games.

All we need is one catch to go over this line.
