The Denver Broncos are in need of a quarterback, and Cory Woodroof of USA Today feels that they could target New York Jets youngster Zach Wilson.

Of course, it seems doubtful that the Broncos would want Wilson as a starter, but perhaps they could bring him in as some competition for whoever they take in the NFL Draft.

The Jets are looking to trade Wilson, who has not lived up to expectations since being selected by the club with the second overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft.

The problem is that Wilson has a fully guaranteed fully compensation package of $5.5 million, so whoever trades for him will have to pick that money up.

That could make trading Wilson difficult for New York, which may have to even include a draft pick to get another team to take him off of its hands.

Wilson went into this past season as the Jets’ backup but was unexpectedly pressed into starting duty after Aaron Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles injury on Gang Green’s first offensive series of the year.

The 24-year-old ended up playing in 12 games with 11 starts, throwing for 2,271 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 60.1 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 77.2.

Wilson has shown some flashes, but his inconsistency and strange decision-making have far outweighed his good moments over the first three seasons of his career.

The BYU product is currently third on the depth chart in New York, as the Jets have Rodgers and also signed Tyrod Taylor this offseason.

It seems to be only a matter of time before the Jets move on from Zach Wilson. The question is, will they be able to find any value in a trade for him?
