NFL.com changes Colin Kaepernick's listing from 'retired' to 'UFA'

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick hasn't played a game in the NFL since the 2016 season, but that doesn't mean he's retired from the league.

The NFL recently redesigned its website, NFL.com, and wrongly listed Kaepernick as "retired." It took his girlfriend, Nessa, to tweet in outrage about the listing for the NFL to finally change it and list Kaepernick as an "unrestricted free agent," or in short, "UFA."

Changing Kaepernick's listing does nothing for the quarterback who led the 49ers to Super Bowl XLVII against the Baltimore Ravens in 2012 — he's unlikely to receive a job offer after three years away from the game, despite his immense talent.

Last November the NFL arranged a workout for Kaepernick, but it ultimately failed and the QB conducted the workout himself with no involvement from the league. Since then, he has received no offers or invitations to work out for any team across the league.

In five seasons as San Francisco's starter, Kapernick went 28-30 with 72 touchdowns, 30 interceptions, 12,271 yards and a 59.8 completion percentage. His best season came in 2013, when he led the Niners to a 12-4 record.
