The Colt’s season continues to deliver surprises.  Indy has benched Matt Ryan and backup quarterback Nick Foles will make his 2022 debut against the Los Angeles Chargers. Indianapolis plays the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night football. Nick Foles is the third quarterback to start for Indy this season. Matt Ryan was benched earlier in the season and Sam Ehlinger started a couple of games. The move to start Foles comes after Indianapolis’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Indy gave up a 33-point lead and lost 39-36.

Starting a new quarterback isn’t foreign to Colts fans. Indianapolis has made a name for itself by starting different quarterbacks. Unfortunately, Indy hasn’t found its franchise quarterback. Maybe Nick Foles can provide a spark to a disappointing season in Indianapolis. Foles is expected to play the rest of the season according to ESPN Reporter Dan Graziano.

Nick Foles Timeline

Nick Foles has had a long career in the NFL. Foles entered the league in 2012 and was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles. Foles has played for the Philidelphia Eagles, St. Louis Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Chicago Bears. Foles is most famous for winning a Superbowl with the Eagles in 2018. Does anyone remember the Philly Special? Foles stepped in after Carson Wentz suffered a season-ending knee injury. Foles played great and helped the Eagles win games. Some Eagles fans called him “Saint Nick” because of his play on the gridiron.

Foles broke his left clavicle during the first game of the 2019 season. Foles joined the Chicago Bears in 2020 and had some up-and-down moments as a starter and backup to Mitchell Tribusky.
