The Los Angeles Rams roster will look significantly different next season as several key contributors have either been traded or signed with different teams this offseason.

Among the recent departures is Nick Scott, who joined the Cincinnati Bengals on a three-year contract. The 27-year-old had been part of the Rams organization since being selected in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

After primarily playing on special teams in his first three seasons, Scott took on a bigger role during the Rams’ Super Bowl run and he continued his ascension this past year. Scott started in 16 of the team’s 17 games and finished with 86 tackles, five passes defensed and two interceptions.

After signing with the Bengals, Scott took to Twitter to thank the Rams organization, teammates and coaches for helping him become the player he is today:

With Scott no longer in the picture, the Rams are expected to lose both of their starting safeties from the 2022 season. Taylor Rapp remains a free agent but has taken visits with the Bengals and New England Patriots, and could sign at any time.

As a result of the turnover, Jordan Fuller could be elevated to a starting role this year after missing most of the 2022 season due to injury.

Furthermore, the Rams drafted a pair of defensive backs in last year’s draft in Quentin Lake and Russ Yeast who are expected to take on larger roles next season.

Rams’ offseason losses on defense

In addition to Scott and the likely departure of Rapp, the Rams have parted ways with Leonard Floyd and Bobby Wagner this season, and also traded Jalen Ramsey to the Miami Dolphins. Moreover, Greg Gaines signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and A’Shawn Robinson met with the New York Giants.
