Nick Sirianni hints he could add recently fired HC to Eagles staff

It appears Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni and former Indianapolis Colts coach Frank Reich could soon work together again.

"Yeah, we’ll see how that goes. I don’t know yet," Sirianni responded when asked Thursday about possibly adding Reich to his staff, per Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk. "That’s not something that’s been — that happened, when, Monday? And my focus has been completely on Washington. So, again, you know how I feel about Frank. I’m always going to use him as a consultant, whether he’s in the building or he’s not in the building. But, I haven’t even really thought about that, to be quite honest with you. We’re really just focused on today to get ready for Washington."

Sirianni was referencing how the Colts only parted ways with Reich this past Monday. Later in the week, Reich confirmed he is keeping all "options open" and that his "desire is to be a head coach" again. First, the 60-year-old is spending time visiting his children and grandchildren along with his wife Linda this month.

Reich, the Eagles and Sirianni are already all linked with each other. Before he was hired by Indianapolis, Reich served as offensive coordinator for Philadelphia and helped the club defeat the New England Patriots to win Super Bowl LII. Sirianni was Reich’s offensive coordinator in Indianapolis from 2018 until he was hired by the Eagles in January 2021.

Sirianni is widely viewed as a Coach of the Year candidate due to the Eagles beginning the 2022 season 8-0. Philadelphia next hosts the 4-5 Washington Commanders Monday night.
