The Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense pushed a balanced game prior to their bye week. Now they must build upon that momentum. They’ll travel to Cleveland in order to keep things rolling prior to a divisional matchup. Here’s where the offense needs to keep this game out of reach from the Browns.

Mismatch In The Secondary

Though the Buccaneers are attempting to become more balanced and batter opposing teams with the run game, this week may require the aerial attack. Martin Emmerson poses the greatest threat to the passing game, but outside of him, there is little that worrisome. Greg Newsome II and  Denzel Ward continue to be lackluster, registering as the 62nd and 114th corners out of 120 graded. If the Tom Brady and the Buccaneers offense can catch the Browns defense in nickel and have Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Julio Jones on the field at the same time they should consider the hurry up offense and exploit this mismatch.

Emerson is allowing 64.9% reception percentage while Newsome and Ward are allowing 69.2% and 65.6% respectively. Brady should have no problem connecting this week.

Pass Protection

In order to pass you must pass protect. The Buccaneers will have there hands full with arguably the top edge rusher this year in Myles Garrett. Throw on top of that Jadeveon Clowney and the offensive line will likely need some help from the likes of Ko Kieft. Together the the edge rushing pair has 62 total pressures between them.

Final Thought

In order to pull off an offensive air raid the Buccaneers have to keep Tom Brady upright. My fear is they’ll start to conservatively. If they do so, the defense may be able to pin their ears back and get after Brady and crew.
