Packers' Aaron Rodgers has interesting comments about Jets' Zach Wilson

Although he’s been linked to the Jets through trade buzz, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers thinks New York should not be so quick to hit the eject button on its current QB.

During a recent appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers gave Zach Wilson a glowing review, stating he believed the second-year signal caller has a bright NFL future ahead of him despite the adversity he faced this year.

“For him, it’s just going to be humility, lean into that and just consistently working on the fundamentals,” Rodgers said of Wilson. “I think he’s so talented, but the best in the business can make all the plays out of the pocket…but inside the pocket, that’s where you beat teams. …I hope whoever they decide to go with at (offensive) coordinator can come in and work with him and break down the fundamentals for him and get him playing on time because I think he’s talented enough to have a long career in the league.”

Rodgers recalled a 2021 preseason practice against the Jets where he walked away impressed with their defense but believing the offense was lacking playmakers around Wilson.

In the year since, New York has added rookie running back Breece Hall, rookie receiver Garrett Wilson and tight end C.J. Uzomah. Garrett Wilson led all rookie WRs in targets (147), receptions (83) and yards (1,103), while Hall had 463 yards and four touchdowns before suffering a season-ending ACL injury.

Although Rodgers’ future still remains a mystery, it’s clear he’s a fan of the supporting cast that he would be surrounded by should he, in fact, be traded to New York.
