Packers' Aaron Rodgers: 'I take full responsibility' for 'misleading' comment on my COVID-19 vaccination status

Green Bay Packers starting quarterback and reigning NFL Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers publicly said this summer and before the regular season he was "immunized" regarding COVID-19. It was learned last week after he tested positive for the virus that he was not, however, fully vaccinated, and Rodgers later told "The Pat McAfee Show" he violated league coronavirus-related protocols after NFL Network reported the future Hall of Famer used a homeopathic treatment in an attempt to bolster his antibody levels.

Per Paulina Dedaj of Fox News, Rodgers returned to "The Pat McAfee Show" Tuesday to discuss the ongoing controversy.

"I do realize I am a role model to a lot of people, and so I just wanted to start out the show by acknowledging that I made some comments that people might have felt were misleading," Rodgers said during the appearance. "To anybody that felt misled by those comments, I take full responsibility for those comments."

As for remaining unvaccinated, Rodgers explained: "I made a decision that was in the best interest based on consulting with my doctors, and I understand not everybody is going to understand that necessarily but I respect everybody’s opinion."

Rodgers missed this past Sunday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs that dropped the Packers to 7-2. Per league rules for unvaccinated players, he can return to team activities this coming Saturday but must be cleared to play against the Seattle Seahawks the following day.
