The Green Bay Packers may be in for a major overhaul.

Not only are fans and analysts calling for Jordan Love to start at quarterback over veteran Aaron Rodgers, but the defense has been called into question as well.

In their Sunday Night Football 40-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Packers surrendered 363 rushing yards and an additional 137 passing yards.

The Packers allowed two separate players to run for more than 140 yards.

It’s difficult to win a game when you surrender over 300 rushing yards.

Packers Defense, By The Numbers

On the season, the Packers have given up an average of 23.6 points per game, which is the 20th-best mark in the league.

However, over the last three games, they are surrendering 31.7 points per game, which is second-worst in the league for a three-game stretch, trailing only the Minnesota Vikings.

Defensive coordinator, Joe Barry, is assuredly on the hot seat.

His job has been in jeopardy since he arrived in Green Bay, and things haven’t been looking positive in his favor as of late.

And, it’s not like the Packers are short of defensive talent.

In fact, in the last five seasons, the Packers have used five first-round picks on defensive players, and have made acquisitions for players such as De’Vondre Campbell and Jarran Reed.

With their hopes of a playoff run all but conceded, one has to wonder how much longer Barry will have a job as defensive coordinator of the Packers.

If Love becomes the quarterback, the Packers may clean house, and start fresh with a new coaching regime.
