Packers C Josh Myers looking for a healthy season in 2022

Packers second-year center Josh Myers is looking for a healthier sophomore NFL season this fall. The former Ohio State Buckeye started the first five games of the season before suffering a knee injury in Week 6 against the Chicago Bears. He was placed on injured reserve in late October and missed the rest of the regular season. However, what was most impressive about him was his ability to fight back and persevere through his comeback. He started in the team's divisional-round playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers. But Myers is looking to play his first full season in the league.

In an attempt to do exactly that, Myers is reportedly going to wear a knee brace on both knees during the 2022 season. Knee braces do hurt an offensive lineman's ability to move quickly, but Myers believes that it is completely worth it if that means it can prevent further significant injury. "I felt like it was a small sacrifice to make to protect my knees," Myers told the team's official site earlier this offseason.

The Green Bay Packers offense will certainly need Myers to be fully healthy. With All-Pro LT David Bakhtiari's status unknown (ACL) and Pro Bowl G Elgton Jenkins not expected to be ready until at least midseason (ACL), Green Bay is going to need all the help they can get. QB Aaron Rodgers is not nervous at all about the offensive line this season.

"I like where the line is at. They are very well-coached...I don't really worry about that group," Rodgers told the media after OTAs earlier this month.

The team added three more versatile offensive linemen in the draft. Young players like T Yosh Nijman (played in all 17 games last season), G John Runyan Jr. (started 16 of 17 games last season) and G Royce Newman (started 16 of 17 games last season) have gotten great experience over the last two seasons, too. The Packers will have more help coming with Bakhtiari and Jenkins once both are healthy.

But if NFL sophomore Josh Myers can stay healthy at center, the offensive line will be looking very steady and solid come the stretch run. It would give the Ohio native more confidence in regards to both his health and future in the league.
