Packers DB Rasul Douglas unleashes expletive-laced rant about playing in London

Days before the Green Bay Packers first-ever game in London, the team seems to be split into two camps.

On one hand, there’s players like quarterback Aaron Rodgers who are thrilled and even advocated for a week-long stay the week of the game. Then there’s players like defensive back Rasul Douglas.

The 27-year-old safety is a veteran of the U.S.-to-London voyage, having made it in 2018 as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles when they played the Jacksonville Jaguars. He did not give a glowing review.

“It f---ing sucked,” Douglas said, via PackersNews. “You don’t get to do nothing over there. You just f---ing get on a plane, get over there and f------ practice, and then you play a game. You get back on a plane and travel f---ing eight hours somewhere else.”

The Packers left Green Bay on Thursday for the nine hour and 55-minute flight to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The two days the Packers have from landing until game time, according to Douglas, isn’t enough to overcome jet lag and the six-hour time difference between London and the U.S.

Douglas doesn’t seem to be alone in his opinion of Green Bay’s crazy week. Head coach Matt LaFleur abstained from disclosing his true feelings to reporters about having to work this week around the international game.

"I'm not going to give you my honest answer," LaFleur said, via ESPN. "I'd rather refrain. It feels like a Thursday night game for us as coaches just in terms of all the preparation you've got to do. But you just do it, so it is what it is."
