Packers DC Joe Barry tests positive for COVID-19
Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry has tested positive for COVID-19 and is expected to miss Thursday's game against the Arizona Cardinals, NFL Network first reported Monday morning.
Barry will require two negative tests within the next 48 hours to be cleared to return to the team. With the Packers leaving for Phoenix on Wednesday, it appears unlikely at this time that he will be able to join them.
NFL.com reported Monday morning Barry will help the Packers prep for Thursday's game by checking in virtually while he is in quarantine.
It's certainly unfortunate news for the Packers (6-1) as they gear up to face an undefeated Cardinals team that is averaging 402.1 yards per game. Arizona's offense, led by quarterback Kyler Murray, is averaging 32.1 points per game through seven games, bested only by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who are averaging 33.3 points through seven games.
Barry is now the second member of the Packers staff to test positive for COVID-19 this season, with defensive line coach Jerry Montgomery missing Week 2's 35-17 victory over the Detroit Lions.
