Packers HC Matt LaFleur doesn't hold back when talking about team's struggles

Head coach Matt LaFleur's seat gets hotter and hotter in Green Bay with every loss his Packers tack on to this losing streak.

Now at 2-5 coming off a heartless 24-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, the Packers have lost four in a row and they can't seem to do anything right.

The offense has zero identity. Jordan Love (11 touchdowns, 8 interceptions) has seemingly regressed week after week. Second-year wideout Christian Watson doesn't seem to be "the guy" the Packers hoped he would be. Star running back Aaron Jones can't stay healthy. And even when he is healthy, LaFleur barely gives him any snaps.

The defense has undoubtedly been the better unit, but against Minnesota, Green Bay let the Vikings go 10-of-18 on third downs.

The Packers committed 11 penalties, marking the second time this season they've notched double-digit penalties.

This is a bad, bad football team, and speaking to Green Bay's radio network after the game, LaFleur seemed at a loss for answers.

"It's just like, you know, we're a mess right now," he said. (h/t ESPN)

That's something a fan would say about the 2023 Packers, or perhaps a talking head on television or radio.

But the head coach?

It can't inspire confidence in the locker room to know that LaFleur is basically hitting his head against a blank wall. His offense is putrid (especially in the first half) and his big mistake of running it back with defensive coordinator Joe Barry this past offseason has come back to bite him — which was predictable.

The Packers aren't terrible on defense under Barry, they just play uninspired football.

In fact, the term "uninspired" can be used to describe the whole team, which is wholly an inditement of LaFleur, the lost head coach.
