Packers promoting Adam Stenavich to offensive coordinator?

The Packers have been losing offensive assistants left and right, but one foundational piece of the coaching staff is here to stay -- with a promotion, of course.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported Saturday that Green Bay is promoting offensive line coach and run game coordinator Adam Stenavich to offensive coordinator. The news broke minutes before quarterbacks coach Luke Getsy was hired to be the Bears' offensive coordinator.

Stenavich was believed to be a candidate for a promotion after the Packers declined a request from the Broncos to interview him for their offensive coordinator job earlier in the week. Denver hired former Green Bay offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett as its new coach earlier in the week.

After a brief playing career in the NFL, Stenavich got his start coaching as a graduate assistant at Michigan in 2012. In 2014 he was hired as the offensive line coach at Northern Arizona, and by 2015 had assumed the same role at San Jose State.

Stenavich entered the NFL as a coach in 2017 when he signed on to be the 49ers' assistant offensive line coach. He left after two seasons, becoming the Packers' offensive line coach and run game coordinator, a position he held the past three seasons.
