Packers linebacker Quay Walker likely will be back in action Sunday, a week after he suffered a concussion during a spectacular play against the Bears.

On Saturday, Walker cleared concussion protocol and was no longer listed on Green Bay’s injury report. In addition, the Packers announced that they’d elevated running back Patrick Taylor and defensive back Innis Gaines from the practice squad to the active roster. It’s the second straight week these two received the call. They’re huge players on special teams.

Quay Walker suffered concussion during TD run

Walker suffered the concussion during the run back of his pick six against the Bears. He intercepted Chicago quarterback Justin Fields and returned the pick 37 yards for the touchdown. The play unfolded early in the fourth quarter and represented the Packer’s final score in a game they won, 38-20.

Quay Walker didn’t participate in team drills this past week, but he did do some individual workouts. And his presence will be a big help in defending the Falcons offense, which features rookie tailback Bijan Robinson and second-year player Tyler Allgeier. The two rushed 34 times last Sunday for a collective 177 yards and three touchdowns.

Running back Aaron Jones also could miss Falcons game

Meanwhile, Taylor may see more time on offense. He rushed five times for 22 yards against the Bears. But his playing time could increase if Aaron Jones is unable to play. Jones strained his hamstring against the Bears as he was running for a touchdown. And Jones didn’t practice as of Friday. Plus, Green Bay coach Matt LaFleur said Friday that rookie Emanuel Wilson could see his first NFL action against the Falcons if Jones can’t go.

Receiver Christian Watson also still is limited with a bad hamstring.
