Packers RB Aaron Jones lost chain with father's ashes after one of his TDs vs. Lions
Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones revealed after his monster four-touchdown performance against the Detroit Lions on Monday night that he lost his football chain containing his father's ashes.
During an ESPN interview after the game, Jones said he lost the chain after scoring one of his many touchdowns, adding the grounds crew had not yet found it.
Jones's father, Alvin Jones Sr., died of complications from COVID-19 in April. He was 57.
In a June Players' Tribune article, Jones wrote that his father "is the greatest man I've ever encountered."
"The things he's done for me in my life — he's been there every step of the way," Jones said. "He taught me everything. He showed me how a man's supposed to be a man."
Jones's father was frequently in the stands at Lambeau Field. If the grounds crew can't find his ashes, that's where he'll remain, cheering for his son in spirit.
Jones led the way for the Packers in Monday's 35-17 win, running for 67 yards and a touchdown while adding six catches for 48 yards and three scores.
