Packers three-time Pro Bowl OT David Bakhtiari has low level of concern with knee injury

Packers OL David Bakhtiari was placed on the PUP list Saturday as he continues to recover from a knee injury he suffered a year and a half ago during the 2020 season. It turns out Bakhtiari had a third surgery this offseason to help repair his knee. The five-time All-Pro left tackle is hoping to be ready in time for the 2022 opener Week 1 in Minnesota.

Bakhtiari commented on his knee Wednesday as the Packers kicked off their training camp schedule.

"Concern level: low. Really like where I'm at, especially compared to just where I was overall last season," he said.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst also commented on the status of his franchise left tackle Wednesday: "We're not going to put a timetable on it...I think we're cautiously optimistic."

The third surgery came after the 2021 season ended, which is why his timetable is unknown for the upcoming season.

The three-time Pro Bowl blind-side blocker is a cornerstone piece of the Packers. It makes sense that the team and Bakhtiari are being careful and taking the recovery easy and slowly.

Once Bakhtiari comes back, the Packers offensive line will be taken to a whole new stratosphere because of the 30-year-old's experience. No. 69 was drafted by Green Bay out of the University of Colorado in the fourth round in 2013 and has played all nine of his seasons with the Packers.
