Packers to wear alternate jerseys in 2022

The Green Bay Packers debuted their new 1950s alternate jerseys in last season's Week 7 victory over Washington. Green Bay fans who were in favor of the jersey's design should be in a good mood after hearing the recent news about those same jerseys that broke Friday.

According to Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy, Green Bay will be wearing those jerseys again in 2022 and in every season through 2025. It has not been announced which game the Packers will wear those jersey for during the upcoming season.

In the team's victory over Washington last October while wearing those same jerseys, the back-to-back MVP quarterback in Aaron Rodgers went 27-of-35 for 274 passing yards, three touchdowns and a quarterback rating of 127.6. The Green Bay defense forced two turnovers and recorded four sacks. First-team All-Pro linebacker De'Vondre Campbell led the team with 14 total tackles. That win came as part of a seven-game win streak en route to the team's third-straight NFC North title and the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC playoffs.

Who is to say if the jersey scheme any sort of good luck for Matt LaFleur's team? Nevertheless, it is a jersey that honors the history of the Packers going back seven decades. It also has a very likeable color pattern that resonates with a lot of fans in Titletown. Green Bay's first home game is on Sunday Night Football against the arch-rival Chicago Bears in Week 2 on Sept. 18.
