Packers will bid to host NFL Draft in 2025 and 2027

The Green Bay Packers missed out on hosting the 2024 NFL Draft after the rival Detroit Lions were awarded the famous offseason event. However, the franchise is still looking for more opportunities to host events surrounding the draft in the future. It was announced Friday that the Packers will be bidding to host the NFL draft in 2025 and in 2027. Green Bay is yet to host the NFL Draft and have been hoping to do so for quite a while.

The Packers will not be sending in a bid for the 2026 season because they are already hosting the matchup of powerhouse college football teams in Notre Dame and Wisconsin in the fall of that year. In recent seasons, the NFL Draft has been held in Dallas, Nashville, Cleveland, and Las Vegas. Kansas City is set to host the event in 2023. According to Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy, the franchise expects to win one of those two bids.

This announcement of Green Bay making an effort to host the draft came a day before the franchise hosted it's first-ever soccer game at Lambeau Field. European soccer clubs Manchester City and Bayern Munich met at the historic stadium, and the game ended 1-0 in favor of Manchester City. With the recent creation of the Titletown District right near Lambeau Field, the Packers are looking for ways to utilize the surrounding area. Hosting the NFL Draft in one of the most historic sports towns in America would be great for both the league and the community of Green Bay.
