The Green Bay Packers will trot out Aaron Rodgers as their starting quarterback when they take on the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Rodgers’ availability was in question due to a rib injury that he suffered against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, Rodgers told "The Pat McAfee Show" on Tuesday, and Matt LaFleur confirmed on Wednesday, that he's expected to play on Sunday.
On Wednesday, Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard was asked about Rodgers playing against the Bears.
Of course, this answer harkens back to the 2021 season when Rodgers screamed “I still own you!” to Bears fans after he scored a touchdown at Soldier Field.
The Packers defeated the Bears 27-10 in Week 2 this season. Rodgers completed 19 of 25 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns. Sammy Watkins was the team’s leading receiver, catching three passes for 93 yards. Aaron Jones and Allen Lazard were the recipients of Rodgers’ touchdown passes. Jones also had 132 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown in the game.
