Packers WR Davante Adams: It would be a dream to play with Raiders QB Derek Carr

Aaron Rodgers' future with the Green Bay Packers isn't the only one up in the air.

Packers wide receiver Davante Adams responded to recruiting comments by former college teammate and Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. He didn't close the door on a reunion.

"Obviously, I love Derek to death. We got a great friendship and we still communicate really, really consistently. He's one of my best friends, so obviously it'd be a dream to be able to play with him," Adams told Bri Mellon of ABC30.

Adams said that his off-field bond with Carr helped establish their dominance on the field at Fresno State. The 28-year-old had 3,031 yards and 38 touchdowns over the 2012 and 2013 campaigns with Carr slinging the football.

Adams is entering the final season of his four-year deal and will be a free agent in 2022 if he doesn't agree to an extension with the Packers. He led the NFL with 18 touchdowns last season in what was one of his best years in the league.

The four-time Pro Bowler also appeared to acknowledge that his future in Green Bay is uncertain with a cryptic social media post on Tuesday. Of course, he could just be trolling everyone, or he could be talking about something aside from football.

However, he recently said in an interview with Bleacher Report's Graham Matthews that he wants to stay in Green Bay beyond the 2021 season.

"That's the plan, man. I'm not planning on going anywhere," he said "That's only one piece of it, though. Obviously the quarterback situation helps it, but the stars got to align across the board as far as contractually. We'll figure all that stuff out and let it happen. I'll be at training camp like I said regardless, we're going to play the season, and we'll see how all of that pans out."

So while he wants to play with Carr again, that may never happen.
