Packers WR Devin Funchess ready to go after opting out of 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Devin Funchess is ready to roll.

Funchess hasn't played since breaking his collarbone in the first game of the 2019 season. He could've returned in 2020, but opted out due to COVID-19 concerns.

When he hits the field in 2021, it'll be the first time he has played in two years. The 27-year-old is confident that he hasn't lost a step.

"I'll never doubt myself," Funchess said this week, according to The Associated Press. "The moment you start doubting yourself, you lose. I like to win. I don't like to lose. So I guarantee I'll keep a smile on my face and we're going to be dancing a lot."

Packers star receiver Davante Adams said he is looking forward to working with the Detroit native this season.

"I feel like I've known him longer than what I actually have," Adams said. "He's a great dude, competitor, got high expectations for himself. He's a dog, I can tell that. He's as big as hell. He'll be able to offer up a lot to us. He's got the right mindset."

Funchess spent four seasons with the Carolina Panthers before signing with the Indianapolis Colts for the 2019 season. He had three catches for 32 yards in his only game with the Colts before suffering the season-ending injury.

In 62 career games, the Michigan product has 164 catches for 2,265 yards and 21 touchdowns.
