Packers WRs Randall Cobb, Marquez Valdes-Scantling return to practice

The 12-3 Green Bay Packers are close to giving reigning NFL Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers a full assortment of weapons ahead of the upcoming postseason tournament.

Per Rob Demovsky of ESPN, Green Bay wide receivers Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Randall Cobb returned to the practice field on Thursday. Valdes-Scantling missed the Christmas Day home win over the Cleveland Browns because he was on the reserve/COVID-19 list and should be available for Sunday's prime-time home matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.

Cobb's status is still up in the air. The 31-year-old underwent core muscle surgery coming off a win over the Los Angeles Rams on Nov. 28 that reportedly was going to sideline him through the end of the regular season. Green Bay could, of course, sit Cobb for contests versus the Vikings and Detroit Lions before the playoffs even though the club could potentially clinch home-field advantage through the postseason this weekend.

According to ESPN stats, Valdes-Scantling is second on the Packers with 427 receiving yards, and he's also contributed 25 catches with three receiving touchdowns. Cobb, meanwhile, has recorded 28 receptions for 375 yards, and he's tied for second on the team among receivers with five touchdown catches.
