The NFL announced their Player of the Week Award winners on Wednesday. Defensive units had a big week last Sunday, headlined by a duo of corners that caused havoc for opposing quarterbacks. Indianapolis Colts corner Kenny Moore nearly beat the Carolina Panthers himself, scoring two touchdowns in his team’s 27-13 win. Meanwhile, New Orleans Saints CB Paulson Adebo forced three turnovers in Week 9. 

New Orleans Saints CB Paulson Adebo: Earns NFC Defensive Player of the Week Award for Three Turnover Effort

New Orleans Saints corner Paulson Adebo took home the NFC’s DPOTY Award for a stellar performance last Sunday. The Stanford product snagged two interceptions and forced a fumble in a 24-17 win over the Chicago Bears. He intercepted Bears QB Tyson Bagent early in the first quarter, setting up the first touchdown for the Saints. He then recovered a fumble on the Bears’ first drive of the second half, leading to a New Orleans field goal. Adebo registered his final takeaway of the game late in the fourth quarter, with his team nursing a 24-17 lead.

Green Bay Packers safety Jonathan Owens also deserves recognition for his performance on Sunday. He was the team’s leading tackler in a 20-3 win over the Los Angeles Rams. Owens also forced a fumble and tallied a sack.  

Indianapolis Colts CB Kenny Moore Carries Team to Victory in Week 9

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Kenny Moore had a career day last Sunday, registering a pair of touchdowns in his team’s 27-13 road win over the Carolina Panthers. Moore intercepted rookie quarterback Bryce Young late in the second quarter, returning it for a 49-yard touchdown. The Valdosta State product found paydirt again in the fourth quarter, returning another Young interception for a touchdown, this time from 66 yards out. He finished the game with eight tackles and two picks.

New England Patriots linebacker Kyle Van Noy also had a busy Sunday, posting two sacks and a forced fumble on Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith. Cleveland Browns lineman Dalvin Tomlinson also had a bid at DPOTW honors with 2.5 sacks against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9.
