Panthers acquire CB C.J. Henderson in trade with Jaguars

The Carolina Panthers have traded cornerback CJ Henderson and a fifth-round pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars for tight end Dan Arnold and a third-round pick, the teams announced Monday, via ESPN.

Carolina has been on the hunt for a new CB after 2021 first-round pick Jaycee Horn was injured in last Thursday's game against the Houston Texans. Horn sustained multiple broken bones in his foot and is expected to miss an extended period of time, if not the entire season.

The Panthers, who currently lead the NFC South with a 3-0 record, wasted no looking for a replacement CB, even being rumored to have interest in 33-year-old veteran Richard Sherman.

Henderson, a second-year player out of Florida, started eight games last season for Jacksonville before being sidelined with various injuries. He has only played two games so far this season, tallying eight total tackles, one for a loss.

Arnold, 26, had just signed a two-year deal with Carolina in the offseason after stints with the Saints and the Cardinals. Through the first three games of the season, he caught seven passes for 84 yards with no touchdowns.
