Panthers close facility after positive COVID-19 tests

The Carolina Panthers aren't coming off their bye week at full strength.

Carolina announced Monday that the team facility will be closed for the next two days following additional positive COVID-19 tests. A number of players were placed on the reserve/COVID list, but the team did not specify how many.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday that the Panthers had two players test positive for COVID-19.

Names of the players placed on the reserve/COVID list are expected to be announced later on Monday.

Defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos and defensive tackle Bruce Hector were placed on the list last week and were the first Panthers players to be added to it since cornerback Rasul Douglas on Oct. 23.

The Panthers are set to meet virtually for the next two days as they prepare to take on the Denver Broncos this weekend. At 4-8, Carolina will be hoping all its players are able to compete against Denver.
