With just one season in the books in Charlotte, former Carolina Panthers wide receiver DJ Chark Jr. is headed to Los Angeles.

Chark signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers worth $5 million, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday night.

In going to Los Angeles, Chark is putting an end to what was ultimately an extremely disappointing 2023 season.

Chark initially signed with the Panthers during the 2023 offseason. Carolina gave him a one-year, $5 million prove-it deal and he didn't exactly do so.

In 2023, Chark finished the year with 35 receptions, 525 yards and five touchdowns. It was a small increase from his production in 2022 with the Detroit Lions, but it was still a far cry from his 2019 production where he was a 1,000-yard receiver with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Chark now joins former Panther teammates center Bradley Bozeman and tight end Hayden Hurst, who signed with the Chargers earlier this offseason.
