The Carolina Panthers have released offensive lineman Michael Jordan and defensive end Kobe Jones, according to Joe Person of The Athletic.

Jordan came to Carolina from Cincinnati in 2021 after being claimed off waivers. He started ten games for the Panthers that season, showing some potential before having a rough end to the year. Last year, he played in all 17 games as a backup but struggled in pass protection allowing two sacks in just 54 offensive snaps. He received a good chunk of playing time this preseason and once again, the pass protection issues popped up.

Raequan Williams is a little bit of a surprise considering he made some plays in that second game against the New York Giants notching four tackles, two QB hits, a sack, and a TFL. Shortly after the game, the team moved on from Marquan McCall seemingly opening a roster spot for Williams.

As for Kobe Jones, he made the most of his opportunity. He impressed the staff in OTAs and that carried over to the start of training camp. In three preseason games, he recorded eight tackles, one tackle for loss, and one pass breakup.
