Carolina Panthers veteran quarterback Andy Dalton believes the team did enough to make Bryce Young's second season easier.

Despite everything that could go wrong for Young during his rookie season happened, the Panthers never stopped believing in him. During the free agency period, Carolina opted to add a starting wide receiver in Diontae Johnson in the trade market. Carolina has also been active in scouting wide receivers ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft.

All the moves made by the Panthers have Dalton believing that the best is yet to come for the former No. 1 overall pick out of Alabama.

"This thing is going to get better, it's going to improve," Dalton said on The Jim Rome Show. "And I think what we have done this offseason, bringing in some guys, bringing in a couple guards on the offensive line, you know, different things, trading for Diontae Johnson, I think it's getting built the right way where, yeah, it's going to set him up to have a better year."

The Panthers also got a new head coach in Dave Canales, who helped two other quarterbacks rebuild their image in the NFL: Baker Mayfield and Geno Smith.

As for the offensive line, Damien Lewis and Robert Hunt mark massive improvements at the guard position.

The run game will be improved with Chuba Hubbard returning and heading into a contract year.

Plus, Young has a great head on his shoulders. He won't make the same mistake twice. Dalton knows that for sure.

"You know, he's never in his life had a season like that and had to handle the adversity that he had to deal with," Dalton said. "It was a tough year. And then you throw in losing your head coach after 11 games and changes on offense all the things that went into it, it was tough. So I think for him, I thought he handled it well, and I kept telling him, just stay the course."

The sky is only the start for Young in 2024.
