Patrick Mahomes takes to Twitter to laugh off a report about his fiancee and brother. Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

There was a rumor so wild that spread over Twitter Friday that even Patrick Mahomes felt the need to respond.

Rich Ohrnberger, a former NFL lineman from 2009-2014, received some attention on Friday for his reports about the relationship between Tom Brady and Bruce Arians. We cautioned at the time that a previous report from Ohrnberger about the Patriots turned out to be incorrect.

It’s unclear whether Ohrnberger’s Brady-Arians story is false, but it sure looks like it based on what seems to be his history.

While receiving some attention for the Brady-Arians report, Ohrnberger decided to double down and throw out another rumor.

Ohrnberger claimed that Patrick Mahomes talked with fiancee Brittany Matthews and brother Jackson about not attending his games in the future, saying they were bad for his brand.

Ohrnberger later deleted the tweets.

Mahomes saw the tweets and responded.

“Y’all just be making stuff up these days,” he wrote.

Yes, that most certainly seemed to be made up.

The rumor never really added up. Sure, Jackson and Brittany bring negative attention to Patrick, but it didn’t sound right that he would tell them to stop coming to his games.
