Patrick Mahomes leads Chiefs past Tom Brady and the Bucs, 41-31, in Super Bowl LV rematch

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs bounced back from last week's disappointing loss to the Indianapolis Colts, knocking off Tom Brady and the Tampa Buccaneers on Sunday night, 41-31

Mahomes helped lead the Chiefs' well-rounded attack Sunday night.

Kansas City's standout quarterback finished 23-of-37 for 249 yards, with three touchdowns, including a zany flip-pass to Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the first half.

Mahomes connected with eight different receivers on the night, with stud tight end Travis Kelce leading the way with nine receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown.

The Chiefs' ground game also made an impact against the Buccaneers, finishing with 189 rushing yards. Edwards-Helaire was the Chiefs leading rusher, posting 92 yards and a touchdown off 19 carries.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs' defense kept the Buccaneers' running attack under wraps, holding Tampa to just three-net rushing yards.

Kansas City jumped ahead of the Bucs early, taking a 14-3 lead into the second quarter. The Chiefs kept their 11-point lead intact heading into the halftime break, leading 28-17.

It was more of the same in the second half. While Brady and the Bucs cut the Chiefs' lead to 10 points late, they never really threatened with a comeback.

Brady finished 39-of-52 for 385 yards and three touchdowns in the loss.

Mike Evans led all Buccaneers with eight catches for 103 yards and two scores.

The loss is the second in a row for the Bucs after falling to the Green Bay Packers 14-12 in Week 3. Tampa Bay hosts the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday.

Conversely, the Chiefs improve to 3-1 on the season. They'll look to make it two wins in a row in Week 5 when they host the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football.
