Patrick Mahomes still bothered by ankle sprain three months later

It's been nearly three months since Patrick Mahomes suffered a high-ankle sprain during the Kansas City Chiefs' divisional-round win against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The two-time MVP told reporters on Monday that while he believes he'll be good to go for training camp this summer, he's still not 100% recovered.

Just one week after the win against the Jaguars, Mahomes went 29-for-43 for 326 passing yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions to help lead the Chiefs over the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game. Thanks in large part to the ankle ailment though, he added only eight yards on three carries.

In the team's Super Bowl LVII comeback win against the Philadelphia Eagles, the 27-year-old went an efficient 21-for-27 for 182 passing yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions, while racking up 44 rushing yards on six attempts.

Mahomes had a big regular season running the ball, setting career highs in rushing touchdowns (four) and yards per carry (5.9), while collecting 358 yards on his 61 attempts.
