With the 2024 NFL Draft just over one month away, the New England Patriots have announced some key dates for their offseason workout program — along with confirming perhaps the most-anticipated Patriots Hall of Fame induction ceremony in team history.
While much of the program had previously been subject to either limited or closed media access, the Pats will be providing greater visibility to both rookie minicamp and organized training activities (OTA). Additionally, both head coach Jerod Mayo and director of scouting Eliot Wolf are scheduled to meet with the media prior to April’s NFL Draft.
New England’s offseason program, per a Monday morning team communication, will begin with rookie minicamp on May 10 and continue on May 11. Media will be allowed to attend the second and final rookie practice session.
Just one week later, the Patriots will conduct ten voluntary organized team activities between May 20 and June 7. Of those 10 OTA practices currently scheduled, four will be open to the media: May 20 and 27, along with June 3 and 17. Closed practices will be held on May 21, 23, 30, and 31 and June 4 and 6. OTA practices do not require mandatory player attendance.
The Patriots will next host mandatory minicamp, which does require presence from all players unless given an excused absence by the team. From June 11 to June 13, the Pats take part in practices which will be open to the media.
All spring practices, OTAs and minicamp, are generally closed to the public.
Lastly, the team provided confirmation that legendary quarterback Tom Brady will be inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame on June 12. The ceremony will be a ticketed event held at 7 p.m. ET within the confines of Gillette Stadium.
Brady’s induction will be the first in team history to waive the customary four-year waiting period, with the date of 6/12 representing the six championships he won during his Patriots tenure, as well as his iconic No. 12 jersey.
