Patriots assistant Matt Patricia 'loves' QB Mac Jones' outbursts

New England Patriots offensive play caller Matt Patricia has no problem with quarterback Mac Jones getting angry during games.

The irony may come with the fact that Jones' frustration could be aimed at Patricia and New England's mediocre offense.

Jones hasn't quite found the same success with Patricia calling plays as he did in his rookie season with former Pats offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

The team has a middling 21.2 points-per-game average to pair with its 319.6 yards-per-game average (good for ninth-lowest in the NFL). It's not the worst in the league, but a disappointment for a team that hoped to build on Jones' promising first year.

On Monday night, Jones very visibly showed his annoyance during certain moments, even to the point of dropping profanity

However, Jones praised Patricia after the team's 27-13 win over the Arizona Cardinals, and the two were seen getting along on the sideline during Monday's win.

It might be a mystery as to just how well Patricia and Jones actually work together, but New England will need more from its offense in perhaps the NFL's toughest division, the AFC East.

Patricia didn't have an offensive background when he took the reins of calling plays this season. It remains to be seen if he'll keep those duties next year.
