Patriots' Cam Newton: 'There's no need to press the panic button'
The New England Patriots have plenty of questions to answer after an 18-12 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday at Gillette Stadium. While they only had one practice in preparation for the Broncos, the team dropping to 2-3 on the year is concerning.
Cam Newton, though, thinks otherwise. The Patriots quarterback believes it's not time to worry just yet despite back-to-back losses.
While there's still plenty of time for the team to turn things in the right direction, Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels will have to great creative in getting the offense running more efficiently. So far this season, the Patriots offense ranks 14th in the NFL and 25th in passing, which isn't ideal.
Newton, in particular, hasn't been great in the passing game. Despite completing 68.1% of his passes for 871 yards, the former MVP has tossed just two touchdowns against four interceptions in four games. If the Patriots want to get the ball in the end zone more often, Newton's arm absolutely will have to improve in the coming weeks.
New England is set to take on the San Francisco 49ers this coming Sunday, and if they drop to 2-4, fans will start to worry for the first time in two decades.
