Patriots' Jonnu Smith 'looking forward' to two-tight end sets with Hunter Henry

The Patriots used to be known for their two-tight end sets that confounded defenses, and now the team hopes to bring that strategy back after signing tight ends Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry in free agency. Smith, who previously played for the Tennessee Titans, told NFL Network that he was excited to team up with Henry and bring two-tight end sets back to New England.

"I've seen the success that they've had with two-tight end sets years ago," he said. "It shows how creative they can be. I'm a competitor, and I'm sure (Henry is) a hell of a competitor as well. So, just being able to go in there, just going to try to outwork each other, it's only going to make us better. I'm looking forward to it."

Smith had a breakout season with the Titans last year, catching eight touchdown passes and establishing himself as one of the game's elite end zone threats. Now, he hopes to take his career to yet another level with the Patriots, as he is in prime position to cross 500 yards receiving for the first time in his career.

The Patriots are hoping that Smith and Henry can prove to be the anchors of a revived offense after the team struggled to score many points last season.
