Patriots QB Mac Jones fined for two separate incidents against Bengals

New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones made highlights for the wrong reasons this past week when he dove at the knees of Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Eli Apple during the Patriots' 22-18 loss. That not only added another play to his lengthy list of borderline plays, it also earned him a fine from the league, per ESPN's Mike Reiss.

It was not even his only fine of the week.

The NFL actually fined Jones for two separate plays in that game against the Bengals, totaling more than $23,000.

He was hit with a $13,367 for the play on Apple, and another $10,609 for a play where he attempted to recover a fumble.

Jones has now been fined three times this season by the league, after also drawing a $10,609 fine for flipping the ball at a Buffalo Bills defender earlier in the season.

Jones has developed a nasty reputation for being a dirty player, which is not something you typically hear about a quarterback. Especially a quarterback who has not even played two full seasons in the NFL.

The Bengals, including Apple, were highly critical of his actions and pointed out it is not the first time he has done things like that.

So far, it has cost him more than $30,000 in salary this season.

If he does not tone it down, it might eventually end up costing him a game.
