Patriots RB James White ruled out against Saints with hip injury

New England Patriots running back James White suffered a hip injury in Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints and was immediately ruled out for the contest.

White went down after he took a handoff on 3rd-and-3 from the New England 27. He ran six yards for a first down but was down on the Saints' sideline before being carted off the field.

White has played an important role for the Patriots this season. He entered Sunday's game with 12 catches for 94 yards and nine carries for 32 yards and a touchdown.

The 29-year-old is in his eighth season with the Patriots and hasn't played a full season since 2018.

New England still has a plethora of running backs to use if White misses any time. Damien Harris, J.J. Taylor, Rhamondre Stevenson and Brandon Bolden are still available.
