Patriots seeking revenge in multiple ways vs. Cowboys

In week six of the 2021 NFL season, the New England Patriots (1-2) had a bitter ending to their 35-29 overtime loss to the Dallas Cowboys (2-1).

After he caught the game-winning touchdown, Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb smiled and waved goodbye to Patriots cornerback Jalen Mills. The gesture was humiliating to Mills and the Patriots, who were in their home stadium.

Although it was a quick gesture in an action-packed game, because of memes and GIFs still used on social media, Lamb's postgame wave is one of the more memorable moments from the matchup.

Luckily for them, this season, the Patriots will have a chance to get their revenge for Lamb's 2021 mockery.

At 4:25 P.M. EST on Sunday, the Patriots are slated to play the Cowboys in Dallas.

The Cowboys are seven-point favorites, according to OddsChecker. Because the Patriots will have an extra chip on their shoulder, however, they might put in more fight than some expect.

New England, who defeated the New York Jets (1-2) in their last game, will be looking to continue their winning ways. The Cowboys, who surprisingly lost to the Arizona Cardinals (1-2) in their last game, will be looking to get back on track and make a push for the first seed in the NFC.

Patriots running back Ezekiel Elliott will also be looking to prove something extra against Dallas.

Elliott is a former Cowboy and statistically, he is one of the best running backs in Cowboys history. Elliott appeared in three Pro Bowls and earned first- and second-team All-Pro recognition during his time in Dallas. In March, he was released by the Cowboys before later signing with New England.

Against the Jets, Elliott rushed for 80 yards on 16 carries, an average of five yards a rush. Elliott will surely be looking to replicate and possibly improve upon his most recent performance to show his former team why they shouldn't have released him.
