It seems like the New England Patriots might be without one of their key starters this weekend.

Jabrill Peppers has been absent from practice this past week, appearing on the injury report with a hamstring injury.

There have been no updates about his status besides the daily injury reports, but on Friday, the safety commented on social media. And the interaction was quite funny.

One account posted a hilarious false report, "explaining" why Peppers hasn't been on the field.

Peppers responded to this, writing "Smh... on the phone with the doctor now discussing the best methods of living with this condition."

It certainly seems like a good sign that Peppers is able to joke about all of this.

After the Patriots last game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Peppers declined to talk with reporters in the locker room.

At the time it was uncertain exactly why, but now it seems it may have had something to do with the injury.

The safety has been a bright spot in a difficult season for the Patriots, coming up with many big plays in crucial times for the team.

So far this season, Peppers has recorded 76 tackles, one sack, one force fumble, one fumble recovery and two interceptions in 14 games played.

Hopefully he will be able to return after this week.
